You get the resources to upgrade your items at the beginning on one hand in Chaos Dungeons, while in the Guardian Raids. The latter is often in comparison to Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter series, as you hunt for a huge monster within the map, and eventually overcome it. The bosses of the Guardian Raids don't have a health gauge, which enhances this Monster Hunter feeling. In the Chaos Dungeons, on the contrary, you will encounter a multitude of smaller and larger monsters which you slaughter with your abilities to deal damage in areas.

Two dungeons per day, per character

It is recommended to complete both Chaos Dungeons and the Guardian Raids at least twice per day. You can still play these after that, but you'll receive considerably less rewards for every time you complete. Most players therefore start to create various side characters, along with whom they play through the activities twice per day. They then send their collected materials to their main character.

There is also some weekly content, such as Abyss Dungeons. They are more challenging than the normal content, yet they provide better content. If you're not able to play for a couple of days, it's not a problem. You can simply catch up on your missing runs at a later time.

When you first start the game, the majority of PVE content is still quite simple, but after T3 at the la**** the difficulty of the game can increase significantly. A fight against a boss can easily last more than 15 minutes, and as soon as a mistake occurs and the group is wiped, a wipe for everyone in the group is inevitable. In addition, you can finish the first PVE content on your own or in a team of up to four players. Lateron, groups of 8 players are mandatory, as you already be aware of from Final Fantasy 14.
