Odell Beckham Jr. Odell Beckham. was one of the major stories of the week when Beckham and the Cleveland Browns decided to part from their respective teams, with his final waiving expected to be officially in effect on Monday. Naturally, with that the Lions team and the no. 1 priority on waivers, many are asking if Detroit is planning to add him after all waiver applications are processed.
Personally, I think that there's a very low chance of that taking place. Given how the Browns restructured his contract--eliminating both remaining years on his contract, and not adjusting his 2021 salary--it makes little sense for Detroit. They'd have to make considerable capacity space to accommodate Beckham onto the roster this year, and they'd only play nine games with Beckham (if he doesn't throw an argument about his time in Detroit) before he becomes the first free agent. Yes, they might receive a compensatory selection out of it, but it's as long as they're active on the free market.
But, really, when it comes to Madden, we don't have to worry about locker room drama, building a culture, or even think about the salary cap too much.
On this week's Madden simulation, we're creating Beckham as a Lion, and we're taking on Detroit against the worst team on the NFL (according to Madden) The Houston Texans, in a desperate effort just to see the team beat a rival, virtual or otherwise.
